An Immunity Booster recommended by the Govt. of India

Updated: Mar 2

The Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy) has always been steadfast in promoting the importance of maintaining a strong immunity against infection from pathogens (disease-causing bacteria, viruses etc.) via holistic approach, which is especially necessary at a time when nations across the world are working towards preventing the spread of Covid-19.

With the ongoing research being conducted on Covid-19, it is becoming increasingly clear that people with a weaker immune system are more vulnerable to the disease. In addition, there is a possibility of long term damage to the body even post-recovery. Thus, a stronger immunity is required more than ever to safeguard against the damaging consequences of infection. In this regard, the ministry of AYUSH has provided/released a ready-made formulation consisting of various Ayurvedic herbs as an immunity boosting measure amid the outbreak of coronavirus. It has issued an advisory to all the states and union territories to promote the commercial manufacturing of the same, in accordance with the provisions of Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945. After developing a standardised formula, the formulation is to be manufactured and sold under th

e generic name of ‘Ayush Kwath’

What is Ayush Kwath?

Ayush Kwath is an Ayurvedic formulation given by the ministry of AYUSH consisting of following herbs:

  • Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum) and Dalchini (Cinnamomum zeylanicum), both of which reduce Kapha & Vata and improve Pitta

  • Sunthi (Zingiber officinale) which balances Kapha, relieves swelling and is useful in throat disorders; and

  • Krishna Marich (Piper nigrum) for decreasing sputum production and treating chronic respiratory disorders.

Ayush Kwath made by Vedical contains all the above ingredients in just the right composition that readily works towards building a well-functioning immune system and strengthens the body’s natural defence mechanisms against numerous bacterial and viral infections. It is also beneficial during post-recovery stages. Available in the form of 500 mg dispersible tablets manufactured using 100% natural herbs without any added artificial flavour, this Ayurvedic immunity booster is very easy to make at home. It can be consumed as tea or hot drink (Kadha) by dissolving 1 tablet in half a glass (150 ml) of boiled water to which Gud (Jaggery), Draksha (Resins) and/or lemon juice can also be added. The dosage is once or twice daily for better results, as per the recommendations of the Ministry of AYUSH.
